Just before the extarordinary Jokulsarlon lagoon, you can drive to Kvisker where the same phenomenon happens : calving of icebergs.
To get there, you drive across a moon scenery, inhabited by a few sheep. Even if Skaftafell is 30 km away, the glacier you see is still Vatnajokull : it is as wide as Corsica !
As you approach, you spot icebergs shapes, trapped in the pool. A muddy water flows to the sea, only a few kilometers away. Silence is broken only by ice blocks falling from the glacier...
